Nuviderm: Review

TOP-HEALTH-TODAY’S OVERALL RATING: 50%

Nuviderm Overview:

TCA stands for Trichloracetic acid, which is used as a chemical peel. By using TCA as a chemical peel agent in tattoo removal creams, it makes tattoos breakdown and skin begins to peel so that tattoo pigment is broken up, thus making tattoos less visible. However, TCA can be damaging to the skin and can also cause scarring if not used correctly. DO NOT pick skin that is peeling or it can damage new skin and cause scars. Most people want to peel flaky skin after using skin peels or TCA tattoo removal procedures.

There are some topical skincare products used as a tattoo removal cream. The product Nuviderm was a tattoo removal cream. Nuviderm is currently out of stock and has been discontinued by its manufacturer. Our staff could not find the manufacturers website to obtain information, but there are some third party sites that release limited product information.

It appears that Nuviderm was a fading and tattoo removal option that was sold in two sizes. The two ounce size was not cost-effective, it sold for more than $50 online if you purchased the two ounce product size. We recommend that an affable formula is purchased and that you look for TCA-Free formulas as well. TCA has been linked to side effects, whereas there are some options that do not use TCA or ingredients that have the potential to scar the skin.

Based on third party information, this product was intended for all tattoo colors, but there is no information claiming it was intended for new tattoos that are only a month old or tattoos older than a year. Be sure to elect formulas that can address tattoos of all colors including black inks and can be used on both old and new tattoos. To see some of these options, see our comparison chart below.

Negatives on Nuviderm:

The first negative consideration on the Nuviderm tattoo removal formula is that it has been discontinued and there is barely any information supplied on this product. We did not find a manufacturers website. Some third party websites release some information on this product.
When looking at Nuviderm for tattoos, it appears to be marketed for use on all tattoo colors, but there is no information suggesting that it works on old and new tattoos. You can see some options that offer these benefits by checking out our grid below.

Our next consideration on Nuviderm formula is that it uses TCA. TCA-an acid, can be harmful to the skin if it is not used properly. Side effects like peeling, scarring and redness can occur when using acids. We recommend that individuals use formulas that do not contain ingredients that have the potential to scar or burn the skin.

Final Thoughts on Nuviderm:

Nuviderm appeared to contain TCA, which may scar the skin since it is a form of acid. Luckily this product has been discontinued. Although this product was sold in two sizes, there is no information implying that this product worked effectively on all ages of tattoos. Also there is no information stating that this product offered purchase special offers like a Buy 2, get 1 Free special. To see how Nuviderm compares, refer to the grid below.
